Privacy Policy

PenAnywhere ("we", "our", or "the app") is a screen annotation tool for macOS. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

We collect no personal data.

PenAnywhere runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, usage data, analytics, or telemetry. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no cloud services.

PenAnywhere stores your preferences (tool settings, colors, keyboard shortcuts) locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.

The magnifier feature may request the macOS Screen Recording permission. This permission is used solely to capture a small region of your screen for the magnifier lens. No screen content is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted. The capture happens entirely in memory and is discarded immediately after display.

PenAnywhere does not make any network requests. The app works entirely offline. There are no APIs, no servers, and no external connections.

We do not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with third parties.

PenAnywhere is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect its own analytics and crash reports as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to any personally identifiable information from Apple's analytics.

PenAnywhere does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since PenAnywhere collects no data, changes are unlikely to be material.
